The Derived Vessel : Brand Campaign

Working with a Great Client & Having Fun with a Design That Celebrated Simplicity

The Derived Vessel was a branding campaign I created for the artist Rebekah Sweda. Sweda’s show was one of my favorites at The Center Art Gallery. Their work celebrated the unseen and played with negative/positive space. Their design work is calculated, balanced, and honestly playful. I was drawn to the shapes of the forms and celebrating the intentionality of their work. I wanted to balance color as well as the lines I was drawn to. That’s what I sought to do with both the vinyl and the showcards. The Instagram deliverables were meant to be playful as well as secretive that way people would come in to see the full solo show.

This was one of my first solo brand design opportunities. I learned so much. It was easy to find things to riff off of. It was fantastic working with a great client and getting to have fun with a design that celebrates simplicity.
