Dialogue Posters
I’ve been a part of dialogue since my freshman year and it has been an integral part of my college experience. Dialogue is Calvin’s creative arts journal. Dialogue is completely student run and published twice a school year.
Being a part of staff has many facets, from layout design, organizing a jury for the student work, publicizing events through social media and print media, and editorial work. I served on staff as a layout and events member Freshman through Junior year and became Co-Editor-in-Chief my Senior year.
My first ever poster design was a black and white poetry poster. It was for an upcoming release party. Plaguing the walls of the dialogue office are posters from years past and I hadn’t seen any that utilized poetry, so I decided to experiment with that. Inspired by a love of typography and the famous poster Die gute Form. The last poster I designed was a piece from our online covid issue that I rendered in CMYK to tease our CMYK issue I had helped layout.
