Red Queen Book Cover

Analogue Integration

The Red Queen project challenged me to incorporate what I was experimenting with outside of class into the design work we were assigned. During quarantine I got very interested in block printing and letterpress. I tried so many different attempts at this book cover. Each attempt felt worse than the last. There was one point when I showed up to our online class with four awful ideas. But the night before our 1st draft was due I ditched everything else I had to make this block print. It was a process that started to feel more β€œme” and was the first time I meshed hand skills with graphic design. Which has become a key component in my personal development and style as an artist.

For this specific project I was honored to win a Silver American Advertising Award in the West Michigan student division.
