Big Feelings

“Feel all the Big Feelings.”

The album project starts as a derivation from materials and spaces around you. The idea is that you collect and list songs that relate to a piece of yourself—whether that’s a walk you went on or a trip that changed your life—it’s up to you to decide what to convey. 

I chose to write and record personal spoken word poetry that is autobiographical. The project was required to have: a cover, title, backside design, insert, sleeve, vinyl labels, and a cassette design. This project allowed for me to present myself in a way that was vulnerable but also packaged up in a way that is representative of me.

I titled the project “Big Feelings” because it is hard for me to separate myself from passions. I have learned to “feel all the big feelings” because it’s a part of who I am. That’s something I specifically explore in the poetry.
